Dr. Bunmi Asana, MD

Dr. Asana is the founder and medical director of Center for Mental Wealth. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. She then received her Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston, Texas. During her time at UTMB, Dr. Asana worked to provide free medical care to underserved and uninsured patients, participated in community health fairs, volunteered in an effort to raise funds for breast cancer research, gave presentations to elementary children about the harmful effects of tobacco, distributed meals to homeless families, mentored pre-med college students and more. For her outstanding service in the community, Dr. Asana was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society, a prestigious award reserved for individuals with outstanding qualities in humanism, professionalism, and leadership in the community.

Dr. Namita Shiralkar, MD 

Child, Adolescent and Adult Psychiatrist

Dr. Namita Shiralkar is a highly skilled, knowledgeable and compassionate board-certified psychiatrist with over 15 years of experience providing care for children, adolescents and adults.  

Dr. Shiralkar’s calling and passion for medicine began early on. As a senior in high school, she was accepted to the highly prestigious BS/MD program at Texas Tech University, where she continued to excel academically. Awarded Dean’s Honors list, Outstanding Graduating Senior and Magna Cum Laude, she completed her Bachelor of Science with a major in Biology and minor in Chemistry. She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from Texas Tech University School of Medicine, during which she spent two years doing clinical rotations in El Paso, gaining invaluable experience and learning medical Spanish. Dr. Shiralkar went on to complete her adult psychiatry residency at Texas A&M University School of Medicine Scott & White Hospital in Temple, Texas. Following this, she completed a two-year fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, where she honed her expertise in treating younger patients and family units.

Dr. Paulette Osamor, MD

General Psychiatrist

Dr. Osamor is a compassionate board-eligible psychiatrist, whose passion for mental health drives her desire to provide psychiatric care to individuals from all walks of life. She was born and raised in Houston, Texas and graduated with her bachelors in biology from the University of Houston. Prior to beginning her medical studies and obtaining her Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston, Texas, she worked as an educator in disadvantaged communities, and has a passion for teaching. She discovered her interest in the field of psychiatry early on during her medical studies, with particular interests in working in underserved communities and with disadvantaged populations. While in medical school, she spent time volunteering throughout the Galveston community including providing free care to underinsured patients, volunteering at the Children's Museum of Galveston, and participating in service-oriented extracurriculars through several student-body organizations at UTMB. Such organizations included serving as the president of Student's Together for Service (STS), the fundraiser coordinator for Student National Medical Association (SNMA), and the student liason for the Pan-African Student Society (PASS). Throughout her leadership roles within these organizations, she was able to coordinate community service opportunities, fundraising events, cultural events, and attend national conferences. She was also able to act as a mentor through SNMA for pre-medical students from disadvantaged and/or underrepresented backgrounds looin to gain admission to medical school, several of whom she keeps in touch with today.
